About two weeks ago, I had the honour of welcoming the Lord Mayor of Sheffield Safiya Saeed to Union Street, where she took the time to see what we do at Urban Fusion and try our food. She genuinely enjoyed it, we shared great conversation, and I’m truly excited about the possibilities ahead and the amazing things we can work towards in the future.
One of the things that truly inspired me about her is that she also grew up here in the UK with an African background—much like myself. Seeing someone who shares a similar heritage stepping into leadership and influence so confidently was deeply affirming. It gave me the courage—the audacity even—to continue showing up boldly in the food industry here in Sheffield.

This year as a whole has been nothing short of remarkable: back-to-back events, weddings, collaborations, and opportunities that I don’t take lightly. And it’s not stopping yet. While there have been challenges along the way, choosing a life rooted in gratitude has opened doors I couldn’t have planned myself. Being authentic, doing honest work, and making a genuine difference really does go a long way.
Over Christmas, I spent 72 hours cooking—across the 23rd, 24th, 25th, and even the morning of the 26th—preparing meals for families across Sheffield and bringing Urban Fusion to their Christmas tables. The feedback has been overwhelming, and I’m incredibly grateful to be trusted with such special moments in people’s homes and celebrations.
As we close out the year, I’m full of gratitude and hope. I’m especially mindful of those for whom this season can feel heavy, and I’m praying that the new year brings renewed joy, purpose, and fresh opportunities for us all.
In 2026, I’ll also be more intentional and bold about championing women in food—because there are so many incredible female chefs and food entrepreneurs in Sheffield who deserve visibility and celebration.
So look out for me… because in 2026, I’ll be everywhere. Audaciously.
See you in 2026!
